I seem to have developed a worrying rattle, sounds like its coming from the gearbox although not 100% sure. Car is working fine, could just be something loose but it does sound a mechanical rattle, usually only happens once the car is warmed up.
Any ideas as to what it might be and where I am best to take it to get looked at.

Fill gearbox with oil.
Helps loads
Seriously though changing the gearbox oil did wonders for my washing-machine-full-of-nails rattle if it's the 'box.

You should try pressing the clutch while idling in neutral and see if the noise goes away. If it does then it's likely to be the thrust bearing though it could also be the input shaft on the gearbox (not very likely, IMHO).
Cheers,

It still there when the clutch is in, only begin to here it above 15mph ish.
Dont think its the heat sheild, already have a very rattly heatshield but its a different sound.

Take a spin past the house one evening this week and I'll lend an ear.
