Lambo Doors

Post by Jordan » Wed Jun 24, 2015 8:30 pm

I have seen a video of a Nissan GTR with lambo style doors, looks pretty sweet, does anyone know where you can get these parts for the Evora and if its actually possible to have it done ?
:cheers

I can imagine you probably could with a fair bit of work, the question is why? Lambos don't have Lambo doors anymore and for good reason.

From memory they are extremely heavy too which isn't great for adding lightness. [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

There are certain modifications to Lotuses that seem to the majority of us to be unnecessary, inappropriate or just in bad taste. It takes a brave man to stick his head above the parapet to discuss such mods, but at the end of the day, it is your car, do as you wish! :thumbsup I suspect that on this occasion your suggestion has not gone down too well, as you have stumbled upon a modification that fulfills all three of the above (unnecessary, inappropriate and in bad taste)  ...IMHO

I want to see pictures of that. :damnfunny

Speaking of modifications, has anyone done the rear clam hinge one or is it not really worth it. Not looking at doing it myself btw, I was just thinking that a few on here like tinkering with their motors and it seems logical to me to have this mod to gain easier access to the engine and associated components.

Apologies Jordan, but you can see why I suspected it was a wind up.

Most of the conversions have steel frames and hinges. Not a great fit to the Elise chassis. I think we've all fantasised having a Countach at some point, you can't watch Cannonball Run without. :-)

As pretty much every mod to an Elise has been done at some point, there is probably a host of good reasons that this hasn't. Nothing to stop you researching it and working out for yourself. :-)

I see the Evora as more of a gull wing car. Def needs explosive bolts though.
