vvc plenum

I'm thinking about tidying up my engine bay, best I can. So this is going to sound really anal, but I hate the fact that the VVC text on the plenum is the wrong way up. It's cast I believe so it's not like I could peel it off. Question: How difficult would it be to have it ground off? I have in my head it would be cool to have it smoothed off then have the whole plenum painted in the Honda/Ferrari esk crackle finish red. It would smarten things up a treat and offer a splash of interest to what is a pretty dull engine bay

I'm not sure they are that dear to buy without the VVC bit? Would certainly allow you to get the finish etc without having the car off the road even if you had to machine or prepare a second one. :-)

My current one has no txt on it :thumbsup but my engine isn't a vvc so would look daft with a vvc badge on it, it's silver with a light crackle finish lol.... should be readily available on e-bay I'd have thought?

They are easier to fit that the plastic ones because you can split the manifold in half, from memory. Be very careful to use a new gasket if you do this as otherwise you'll end up with an air leak into the intake at some point in the future.

Readily available with no text.

Black crackle is the new red.

Cheers,
Robin
