The one creature comfort I miss...

I've been commuting 80 miles a day of lovely b-roads in all weather since the summer. Got winters, a heated screen and a hardtop. No issues there, absolutely love it.

However, I always used to take an insulated mug of coffee with me in the RS6, P1 or M3. Nowhere to put it in the Elise - has anyone fitted a cup holder? If so, where?

Cheers

There's a lotus made extruded aluminium part for it that fits under the dash. Was on later touring pack cars I think?

Was that not an S2 Toyota option? Would it work on an S1?

I usually stuff a bottle of water in the gap down the side of the driver's seat.... not ideal though for a hot drink.

BTW, respect for using it all weathers :thumbsup 8)

Dom,

Yep that was an S2 one as did not see the op had an S1.

Did the S1 ever had a cup holder option as factory fitment?

Didn't see the s1 either. Can't see why it couldn't be fitted though? I've used the footrest as a cupholder before, moved up as close to the seat as possible.

I had something similar to this mounted on the floor in front of the passenger seat. Did the trick.

Yes, in the RS6. Along with the heated seats and fabulous stereo. :blackeye

Water bottles or thermal mugs fit nicely to rear left of pax seat. Pretty secure there.

Or get one with a handle open to the bottom and hook it into pax kick panel pocket on the chassis side rail.

Clever. But I doubt there actually is a smooth enough flat area to vacuum it onto?

What he said. Even the flat ally surfaces won't take a vacuum sucker as the anodisation leaves a slightly rough surface meaning a sucker won't seal to it and the plastics all have textured paint meaning the same...
