S2 handbrake centre console in an S1 Elise and leather stuff

Post by Victor Meldrew » Thu Feb 11, 2016 3:26 am

Is it possible to fit an S2 centre console into an S1 Elise?

Does it almost drop in or will it require major cut n shut to make it work?

I have a wiring loom and heat controller for a heated jacket. (which I use because I am slightly unhinged and drive around after midnight with the roof off) I need to mount the rotary knob control somewhere and the S2 gear lever cover looks to have a lot more space in front of the gear lever to mount a rotary knob where the traction control buttons are on more recent cars.

Also seen a couple of much cheapness central consoles on Ebay recently.

There are also some interesting leather "glue on top of" kit for S1/S2 interior parts to tidy things up a bit. Has anyone tried any of them? I still have some holes showing on my Stack instrument cover, a legacy of bloody great big shift light...
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
