Guys
I need to replace my worn AD08s on the back of S2. They haven't exactly lasted very long and thats with normal driving and only a standard K series engine. So thought I'd try something new so have ordered the Bridgestones above. They are supposed to be for enthusiastic driving and recommended for small lightweight hot hatches so cant be too wrong for the Elise. Blackcircles just called me to "warn" me they might not be suitable but they are just covering their arse and don't actually know what the issues might be.
Any real problem with doing this? I see lots of people using tyres that are not the AD07/8s and given that I didn't notice any difference between AD07's and AD08's I thought this would be reasonable. The alternative is to spend another 70 quid for something I might not even notice.
Thoughts (before its too late to cancel)

Can you get them in the right size for the front too?

Generally a really poor idea to put something that's potentially going to have lower grip on the rear first. Never heard of the RE002s but the OE fitment for early Elises was a Bridgestone RE080 (IIRC) and it did not have the grip of the Yoko and certainly not in the wet.
Would not want to be entering a wet roundabout backwards because the rears performed completely differently to the fronts...
Just my 2c on it - Elise is more sensitive to tyres than just about anything else on the road.

I would stick with Yokohama

Arghhh ok will cancel. Would love to be able to compare these tyres but for 70 quid and a bit more hassle I better stick with the tried and tested AD08's
thanks guys

How long did your rear AD08's last?

A sensible decision. The Elise is probably the most sensitive car when it comes to set up and for cost of a couple of tanks of fuel its worth the extra expense to be on the safe side. if you were sitting in a ditch facing the wrong way you would be cursing saving a few quid

Sounds like you need your tracking looked at tbh.
Mine have lasted 6-7000 miles including a good few track days!
No wheelspins here either......

And Mike's isn't exactly a standard car either... it's 260+ bhps
Maybe a geo is in order? How did the tyres wear... evenly? outside/inside etc?

Tyres seem evenly worn and I've had the geo setup and checked. Mind you I wasn't 100% happy as Redpath Tyres in Edinburgh never managed to get my steering wheel straight when doing the setup. Is there any better place to get 4 wheel geo done?

I managed 4000 out a set of A048 and they only have 5 or 6mm or tread when new so your mileage seems low. Have done 3 track days and a walshy day on my AD08r tyres and still plenty of tread left. Probably 2000 road miles on them too.

Been Toyo for me for years. Prob AD08's next tho. Usually get 10k+ out of rears.
