Scottish Elises

Having had a few problems with water getting into the spark plug holes when the car is left outside I did a bit of lateral thinking and came up with the attached.
I cut a bit of the good lady's silicone baking sheet and hooked it over some very convenient lugs on the K Series block. I have just fitted this so I'll let you know how it fares.

I'm hoping the cam cover will not get too hot so the baking silicone should be fine. It also let me place the holes a little short to allow me to stretch it a little, so hopefully it will stay on. It's not to heavy so no weight gain and much cheaper than the £115 for an S2 cam cover.
I feel almost as much of a Tink as when Sanjoy posted up his Nescafe tin air filter filter housing.

Bead is black silicone along the plug cover has always fixed the issue on mine : thumbsup Still occasionally get water in the dizzy cover though.

I fitted Magnecor leads on mine, they have a nice little rubber skirt that seals off the top of the plug bores.

Magnecor leads are a good upgrade for other reasons too.

Top marks for the McGyver Inspired solution though.
