I haven’t updated on this for a while but after a fare bit of thought, well maybe a little bit too much I almost reverted my thoughts on AD08’s but with the car being a fare weather car with a few track days planned I though I’d try the new Nankang AR1’s which were fitted to my 1.2 wheels.

I’ve been running federal RSR’s previous to these and the AR1 is leagues out in front with so much grip than any other tyre I’ve used even compared to the old Toyo 888’s. I was really struggling to find the limits on the last SIDC track day but I’ve just had the engine rebuilt hence the sensible head being on.

Probably not the best tyre if hitting any kind of standing water it I’d highly recommend these as track/ fast road tyre.

£650 for a full set from turnerautosport who are Scotland’s main Nankang dealer whom I’ve no connection in 235/40/17 rears and 205/45/16 on the front which as I said were fitted to after market wheels.

I almost considered ZZR’s but they were almost £400 more
