Re: Exige ECU
Thanks for the pointer. So without trying to sound like a complete spanner does that mean seat out to access? The OBD port is behind the seats at shoulder height - is it nestled in behind there do you mean?
Re: Exige ECU
Found it! Thanks. Behind the passenger seat there it sits just to the right of the OBD port.
Re: Exige ECU
Well, worth trying it out. A short test drive up to temps and I reckon smoother delivery and still quick but lacking the punch and ballistic feeling of the 190 ecu. So swapped back again.
Re: Exige ECU
Didn't the 190 upgrade for the exige include a different cam pulley as well as the ecu, if so, could it be possible the 177 ecu might not be running at its best.
Re: Exige ECU
Yeah could be, there were other changes including a cam timing adjustment as part of the 190 upgrade.
Re: Exige ECU
190 was different ECU, a change in cam timing by changing one of the pulleys, removal of the emissions plate and adding the carbon intake.
Considering how much trouble you had before you were brave to swap it out after getting it to run well! Proved the spare works though.

Hi Ferg
To be honest I was happy that I had resolved the stuttering issues from before well and truly - put simply the lambda sensor was changed by a garage for one that was not the correct OEM. I purchased a new one from Elise parts which looked entirely different to the one that had been put in it. And then it ran great.
I also changed the plugs for the heat range equivalent plug that was in it previously. The final piece of the jigsaw was the throttle potentiometer which I had suggested previously too.
Have you got yours running well too now Ferg?
