Get a wifi elm327 obd do-dah. (Off ebay, or something like THIS if you need it fast.

Download "car scanner" app for £3.

Scan and delete codes, review saved snapshots (sensor readings at the point an error is thrown), watch real-time graphics or review logs from your drives - I am still uncovering useful features months after I got one.

8) good stuff.

Havent tried Dash Command but it looks good too.

I find myself viewing Car Scanner on pretty much every drive. :thumbsup wish the V6 had an oil temp sensor too.

Only thing I am aware of is that the dongle is live with ignition off (i only know this as I can pick upmthe wifi signal eith the car parked in the garage). I havent measured current draw, and guess it will be extremely low. No issues when i left the car idle for a fortnight, but if I was leaving the car idle for longer I would try to remember to pull the dongle out.

Yeah I think its best just to get in the habit of taking it out straight after use.

My car is usually dead if I leave it more than 6 weeks in the garage anyway
