S3 Exige S MIL light

Hi all
New to forum and new to Lotus. Recently bought a V6 Exige S on a 13 plate with 22k miles. Car is everything I wanted it to be but after 3 days of ownership (private sale) the MIL light has come on. According to the manual a constant MIL light is less of a cause for concern than a blinking MIL light but nevertheless it's a worry. Is it ok to run the car with the light on? I've read this is a common fault on S1 and S2 cars and can be easily reset but not sure if this applies to the S3? Be grateful of any advice that forum members can offer.
Thanks in advance.
Steve

Maybe a call to Craig Moncrieff would help your situation.

Hi Steve,

I bought a cheap TackLife OBD reader on Amazon and downloaded DashCommend App, this lets you see fauly codes and reset Mil light.

Hi Graham
Thanks for the reply; I'll get one.
Assume many codes are generic and can be safely reset?
Cheers

Yes - they are easy to use.

I use the “car scanner” app which is superb. Saves logs for your drives that you can peruse later and saves snapshots of the moment a fault code is thrown - so again you can look and see what might have been happening at the time.

Thanks all.
As an update, started the car yesterday and...No MIL! Suggests the S1/S2 'fix' (start and shut car down car 5 times) I'd read elsewhere on the internet has some truth in it. Yesterday was the 6th time since the MIL came on.
