S1 tyres 195 on the front?

Post by mattg » Wed Nov 01, 2006 6:57 pm

I currently have the stock original 185 PZeros on my S1 111S. Theyve still got plenty of tread, but being 6yrs old, i should probably change them.

Am gonna get a new set of 4, probably T1-R.
I have been offered 2 x 195/50/15 + 2 x 225/45/16 Toyo T1-R for £160.00 plus VAT (inc delivery) = £188 total from TVRMads, which I think is a pretty good price.

Has anyone have any problems fitting the wider 195s on the front?
and has anyone dealt with TVRMads before? are they ok?

Thanks,
Mattg

sizes fine, most people run those on S1. cheap price. mixed reviews on tyres. i'd go with BFGs unless you're on super tight budget. Not too much more moolah.

HTH. :D

oh, and don't know TVRmads.. :?

Thats a good price,my ones were £200.
Had them fitted today, and they fill the rims more than the yokos do,which makes me think that the 185 front and 205 rear will work better on standard rim sizes, and is perhaps why so many do not like them. They will not work well on a narrower rim,and will give a lot of roll.

Cant comment on them yet, only done 3 miles, but do give a better, smoother ride than Advans.

Toyos will be great in the winter, had mine for 8k miles and they are approaching replacement (Road use only ) Also that is a great price!

They will be quite squirmy (You'll see!) for the first 200 miles but they settle down. Also play with the pressures as they are very pressure sensitive.

Ditch those ancient Pzeros ASAP!

Hi Rich

What pressures did you run with?

Stu

P.S. how are you doing?

Doing fine thanks! :D Still not found a job though :( Still getting paid for the next month though :D

I'm running 23 front 25 rear cold, seem ok in most conditions, they will be very odd and wobbly to start with they just need heat cycling a few times, but they are fantastic in the wet!

Enjoy!
