Must have just about every variant of upgrade available in our community now. Here's a poll to capture the raw data...but please do also comment on

what you like

AND don't like

...about your upgrade.

And what you'd rather have done instead!

honda.

like. the fact i dont need to worry about my coolant temp any more, and the fact that the car is much more satisfying to drive quickly as there is enough power to challenge it.

dislike. not a lot really. Had its teething problems (and what doesnt) but its sorted now

Do instead. RST V8. drove it in the caterham. absolutely awesome. its what i aspire to eventually.

Larini exhaust and hurricane induction.
Like: The noise of both and the (probably psychological) slightly better throttle response.
Dislikes: None

I bought the car with a hurricane, a CRP and what I was told was a Larini exhaust. I'm fairly sure the exhaust is a quicksilver now but it's all good as I like the sound the car makes. Performancewise not sure if it made a difference as I didn't ever have the car standard.

I took the CRP pipe off because it was far too noisy and doing my head. Feel I can drive the car quicker now as it's slightly more discrete. With the CRP you could go past an old granny at 10mph and they'd be shouting you to slow down. No noticable difference in performance too.

On the elise:
Stage 2 Exhaust and Pipercross Viper Induction.

Likes: Exhaust noise and Induction Hisssssss.
Dislikes: Was pretty expensive fitted new to the car on delivery.
Want: Like the idea of that ECU thingy to lower the cam change rpm

Somewhere between stage 2 and stage 3 I think.

Standard head ported/flowed (still on plastic plenum)
Piper 270 cams
Verniers
Emerald ECU
Paul Ivey oversize valves
Lightened flywheel
AP clutch
ITG induction kit
Janspeed Roadsport Exhaust
CRP

Likes: Noise and extra power :)

Dislikes:
Rough idle and increased kangaroo petrol at low rpm around town.
It only made 151bhp on Emerald's rollers. For the money I spent I would've been better off buying the PTP 165/170 kit.

Most of your know my spec, but here it is:

Stage F - E-bay special: all parts apart from those marked * are off e-bay or second hand

DIY ported head (Ebay £30)
Standard valves (Ebay New £30)
Piper 270 Cams (SELC*CK £180)
VVC inlet manifold (Sh*g of SE!)
Verniers (4m*l of SE!)
4-2-1 (Piston Heads £200)
De-cat (Ebay £30)
Larini*
Hurricane*
56mm TB (TSF of SE)

Like:
More torque, more noise, more go!

Dislike:
M-way is now fairly horrible, bit too noisy on occasions
VVC inlet stole all my torque (4-2-1 brought it back!)

Would like:
Driving skill to match
A count down to detonation...

totally standard (except S/S Janspeed that goes on as standard these days).

shortly fitting mutts nutts brake discs, and probably Pagid 42s. Then replacing the suspension, prob with the Steve B kit.

nothing further after that.
