Mixing tyres advice

Got a recurring puncture in one of the Golf's front tyres - Toyo T1-S fitted all round at present. Time to bite the bullet and replace, but T1-S doesn't seem to be available now, all stockists quoting T1-R.
I'd prefer to match the axle-set if poss, so either :
a) anyone know where I might find an end of line T1-S in 225/40-ZR18 size
or
b) got an opinion on whether mixing a tread pattern by fitting new T1-R will cause any probs? This is for front axle but could of course swap both to rear I guess to lessen any steering effects. However then it'd take ages for the new one to wear through!
cheers

Sadly it's a "space-saver" spare, and I don't have several hundred quid for a new 18 inch BBS alloy to put in place of that!

I'd just stick the T1-Ss on the front and get T1-Rs for the rear, don't see any problem with that. At worst you might get a little more understeer but I doubt you'd notice.

They still make the T1-S in some sizes. The Toyo website says they will reduce the range from 67 sizes to 12 when the T1-R is introduced but it doesn't say what the 12 sizes are.
When I bought my last set of rear T1-S from Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld I asked about end of life on the T1-S. He said he'd still be able to get them for yonks yet. Might be worth giving him a ring: 01236 720205.

Forgot to post the conclusion to this.
Jim Dickson readily supplied a single Toyo Proxes T1-S (monster 225/40/ZR18 sizee) for £106 fitted. Next day delivery from the factory, who apparently have loads of T1-S still to clear.
And yet another family-friendly motoring service agent, according to Lisa and Eilidh
So for those that want T1-S still - Jim Dickson is your man.

I think the only difference between the S and R, is the R has stiffer side walls. I dont think it wold be much of a problem. Do you track it?
