S2 wiper on an S1

looking up various threads for an S2 wiper arm to replace the sad excuse for a wiper I have on the car at present...
however, i found a thread on SELCOCK with someone mentioning a mod to the clam for it to fit right!!!
In true typical SELCOCK fashion, it was unclear whether this was true or not... Im sure I was told it was just a bolt on jobby.
Has anyone done it?
Also, after today, a barrell load of RainX is on crimbo list also!

You don't have to modify the clam but sometimes it catches on the top of the front access panel. You have to take a small amount of material out of the upper edge to get clearance. It is taken from the underside though and you can't see it.
It is definitely a worthwhile upgrade and sometimes it will just go straight on.

Good mod, easy and I didn't have to modify anything. Just bolts straight on.
Rain-X is better than wipers though (For a few weeks anyway!)

Don't worry - it's metal on fibreglass. After a few hours usage, it'll make its own clearance...
Seriously though, mine went straight on in about ten minutes

I did the wiper mod on this page
http://www.lotuselise.at/mods_e.htm . I then just bought a 23" blade from Halfords
When I bought the car back from Lee, he commented that it was the best wiper he had seen on an S1 and he's had a few
