Suspension Set-up Course

I've just had funding approved for developing a brand new course that will teach and demonstrate the fundamentals of suspension set-up.
The course will be held at Bell College (in Hamilton) between April and July 2007 (and on-going annually after that) and will include classroom theory, and practical sessions in both the workshop and on-track (with a pro driver).
Costs for the course will be less than £200.
If any of you are interested in signing-up o rif you know of someone that would be interested, please drop me a PM or an e-mail to:
steven@turner-auto-design.com or
s.turner@bell.ac.uk
The course can (and will) be developed into something more advanced as it progresses, but for now it will concentrate on explaining the basics of suspension design (classroom), how to set-up suspension (workshop), and the effects of changes to set-up (track sessions).
The college will provide the equipment (corner weights, set-up table, etc.) and labour at the workshops and track-sessions.

Hmmm, interesting.
How long does the course actually take?

Details like duration (i.e. will it be once a week, or once every 2 weeks) and time of day are still being discussed, but the main thing is that it's been approved and the funding will be available.
At this stage we're still open to some suggestions on content, but we have the bulk of it sorted.
I'll keep this thread updated with developments as we progress.

It's looking like the theory and workshops will be evening classes, so now we need to know what kind of time would suit most people?
We could also do this on weekends, if it's more suitable than evenings.

I'd prefer nightschool due to weekend working.
Any time suits really but I think to give the Edinburgh (and further) a chance to get other you would be looking at the 7-7:30 start window.

I'm interested, but being in Hamilton, I couldn't do evenings.
If it was a one off, a few dyas together, I could probably take holidays or I could do weekends, but 3 hrs drive each way + class time, no way.
Now, if you bring it to Aberdeen, I could do evenings

I'm wondering if this can be done via 'pod-cast' for those that are further afield. Obviously we couldn't do the hands-on workshop part of it, but could point a camera at the areas of interest!
I'll need to speak with the IT people about the viablilty of this...

After discussing the issue of locality with the senior lecturer today, it may be possible to bring the classes to the Aberdeen area and deliver them over 3 hour evening sessons (e.g. 6-9pm). I'll know more on this once we find out where they could be held.
Can I also ask everyone that is interested in these classes to e-mail me (if you haven't already done so) at
s.turner@bell.ac.uk or
steven@turner-auto-design.com.
Thanks.

Good news!
About the only place where tehre's enough room to drive around a car and try out different suspension setups is the exhibition centre in the Bridge of Don.
They also have meeting rooms, so it may all work out well!
(wouldn't know who to speak to though)

Or you could go to Alford and use the sprint track...
