S1 tow eyes don't cope well with 23mile tows at 50mph...

It used to be round for those who've never checked it
Wouldn't want to have to use it again (Knockhill anyone?). Any ideas were I can get an uprated one?

Snap
Mine looks like that too.
Happend when i was being extracted from the gravel at Duffus.
Trouble is the front panel doesn't shut right cos it's that extra bit taller.
Replacement assemblies are available from elise parts but they're a bit steep like......
Was going to call Murrays......
Hey
maybe we should do a group buy of two

I would just hammer it back into shape but I've a feeling that wasn't the last time I'll be getting towed

I guess at least if it fails at knockhill, there'll always be someone with a spare!!

Yeah, get a new one. Try Elise Parts.
You never know when you will need it at Knockhill Matt. You like to spin off.......on the 1st warm up lap!

Yeah but its too steep when I don't even need the mount... Especially when any local machine shop can knock out a threaded bar with a decent thickness of tow eye on the end for the price of a pint...
Just need to get motivated

OEM item it just a bolt with a (poor quality) ring welded on.
Maybe it's designed to yield (going oval) to avoid shock loading the threads...
Buy an M8 eye-bolt and a shackle (with some rubber washers so it doesn't rattle), probably cost a couple of quid.

A window cleaning eye bolt would probably do the trick either that or a climbing bolt.
