Sounds like mapping Paul. Have you spoke to TT about it?

Sorry I missed you today. Everything ok?

Everything was great :thumbsup 100 miles at Knockhill today with now problems.
The spultter has only happened on the way to yours and back yesterday. I need to speak to TT regarding belt tensioner etc anyway.
Is there anyone up here who map my car? Need new manifold by sounds of it too? What's the best?
Paul
I would speak to Dastek at Dalgety Bay - is it an emerald they use for the TT - I seem to remember Dave & Karl being involved in that.

Robin

shooomer wrote:yeah, it's an Emerald ECU. Can Dastek map them?
They are easy enough to map if you understand the principles behind it. I have a spare ECU-PC cable for the emerald if you need one, as well as all the latest s/w etc., and I can lend you a laptop also if you happen not to have one (I have one dedicated to the task of ECU mapping ;-))

I am going to ask them to map EGOR when the time comes, so I hope they know how to do it, so it would be great if they learned on your car ;-)

Robin

I would recommend the Piper 4-2-1. Reasonably priced and well made.

Agreed. Just fitted the S2 variant to EGOR (though they are fun to fit, not!

Dan - do you know if the S1 variant comes with the same threaded tabs for mounting heatshields? If so, they could be a good solution to fixing the broken heatshields on S1's also, for people who want to switch to a 4-2-1 anyway.

Robin,

The S2 version fits the S1 so they could just fit that. I have fited a couple to S1s.

Doh, of course it does - seeing as how it replaces manifold and downpipe, and given that S2 downpipe and manifold fit the S1, it was bound to wasn't it ...

LOL. I didn't want to say anything ... having fitted the S2 variant of the same thing to my car while the cylinder head was removed, I can say it was awkward ;-)

I think Dave meant he'd drive it down to Dan for you. Knowing Dave the way I do, there's no way he'd attempt fitting it....

ps. Did you get my pm Dan?? a wee while ago now.

Dan/Paul - I was indeed merely offering to tootle it down newcastle direction via the A68 of course and a 100 mile detour, have a chat with Dan about Loti, then find a 400 mile route on the way back up, obviously dropping it back at your door Paul!
