MEMS/ECU

Post by Rich H » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:18 am

I was under the impression that the MEMS was the ECU and that has to be sync'ed with the immobiliser, all in the boot somewhere.

There is a guy on NorLOG who has been told it's behind the dash (S1) and it's sync'ed with the immobiliser...

Anyone know the definative answer? I think it's #1 and he is being taken for a ride...

The MEMS does need to be synced with the immobiliser.

The MEMS is obviously either behind the boot bag or on the engine/boot bulkhead depending on S1 vintage.

The unit that generates the code that the MEMS syncs with is indeed in the dash.

The immob function is implemented by the relay unit hidden in the boot bag/bulkhead, but the code comes from the front.

Cheers,
Robin
