Scottish Elises

I switched the car off, removed the key then gave the wheel a little turn to engage the steering lock, but it didnt lock and now the key wont go back in.

Anyone any ideas?

Keep wiggling? Erm, sounds a little terminal I'm afraid.
Do you have another key or will it not go in at all?

Is the steeringh locked now or not? If not it could be the lock that has failed, do not try and lock the steering as it is easier to change the barrel if it isn't locked IIRC.

Both keys dont work and the steering wheel hasnt locked

I had a problem once that the key would go in but it wouldnt turn with no steering lock! Might be an aa afair.....

and I fixed it!!!

Literally it was like a funny thing happening in the barrell of the lock, enough wiggling of the steering wheel and turning of the key in the lock (gently without snapping key!) and it worked and i don't think Ed ever had a problem.

I used a small metal hook which let me ease the barrel out of the casing
