I think I am once agian being a bit slow and issing the bleeding obvious but...

I bought a new fob off ebay and I need to code it to my alarm. I followed the instructions (I think) put both key fobs simultaneously into "discover" mode then manually enter the code into the car using the ignition key. Then press the button on the key fob 1, then press the button on key fob 2.

Key fob 1 works key fob 2 doesn't. Doesn't matter which one is 1 tried it all ways includiong the way where you get out of synch and have to ignore the alarm going off while you are doing it. What am I missing?

Once again my lazy-ness in describing my problem has rendered my post almost unintelligble...

You are suposed to program (ie mate them to the car) the fobs simultaneously but I can only ever get one of them to work. And it is always the first one I try after going through the "entering pin code" rigmarole... They both work, just not at the same time

Might try again and code tehm individually but I'll end up deafening myself in the garage! (thanks for the warning Ross).

I would call the Lotus customer support line and ask them - they will put you straight for the minimum number of ear splitting episodes.

Pete,
did you ever get this sorted out?
MMC wanted to charge 40 quid to pair a new fob!

anyway, Stephen overheard me on the phone to them and pointed me in the direction of the actual elise service manual as i was using the Cobra user manual to do it instead  No codes or anything needed
