MX-5 power steering (FALC)

Afternoon all,

The g/f's MX-5 seems to be suffering with soggy power steering. Now I'm not expecting Elise standards here but for a car that is praised for it's handling it's pretty pants. Anyone got any ideas on anything I can do to it other than replace all of it? It appears to have quite alot of "bounce" and springs back quite a bit. The tyres are all the right pressure and all fairly new bridgestones.
