What is this wire/plug for... ??
What is this wire/plug for... ??
And, should it be loose??
Just having a quick check over the car after collection and noticed a wire that routes under the Throttle Body and has a 1" (approx) black plug on the end. Only reason I noticed was becaus I was checking to see if the TB was stamped with a '52' to signify the Trophy/160 TB.
Any pointers on this wire greatly appreciated.... K-Series, 135 engine.
(how do I attach an image of it?)

I would think it is spare if the car is OKgorrie wrote:Hi Stu... 2 wires, black/red.
Connector has black casing with a yellow block inside (with 2 pin holes). Car is going fine like, but just in case it's been knocked out by accident.
How do I post a pic?
Not sure about pisting a pic, there is a guide to it in FAQ .
Stu
does this work??

EDIT: Obviously not.
I've stuck a picture on http://www.gorrie.freewebspace.com under 'toys & trackdays' if anyone cares to take a look. Would be greatly appreciated just to put me to rest.
DISCLAIMER: The rest of the site is poo... as it's just an area for me to play.
EDIT #2: Now uploaded pic to my avatar. Anyone???

You need to find the image location, right click on the pic then hit the "Img" button then past the location then hit the "img" button again.
Should look like this "[ img]http://www.gorrie.freewebspace.com/images/p1000093.jpg[/img ]" without the inverted comams

The 135 head doesn't result in any loom/connector changes for the S2 and there is no change in Lambda operation, though there is a different ECU for a 135R.
There are some spare connectors - you might find that one was once plugged onto the exhaust flap solenoid which is commonly disconnected along with the fitting of a sports exhaust.
In that general region there are four connectors that matter - the Throttle Position Sensor (it has three wires), the big bore connector for the injector harness (it has many more wires), the cam position sensor (it is one of the two wires coming out of the plastic Lotus cover - the engine wouldn't start without this one, or if it did, it would put on the orange MIL on the dash, and the plug-top ignition wires (it has 3 wires).
So I think your're safe ...
Cheers,
Robin

I think the exhaust flap is vacuum actuated.robin wrote: There are some spare connectors - you might find that one was once plugged onto the exhaust flap solenoid which is commonly disconnected along with the fitting of a sports exhaust.
