Scottish Elises

Hi,

just a quick question to any of the Scottish Elisers out there running their S1 cars on BFG G-Force profilers - what tyre pressures would you recommend front and rear? Anybody played around with the settings?

From the info out on the web re the S1 the recommended settings appear to be 1.6 bar front and 1.9 rear. I had a set of BFG's fitted a couple of months ago by the local garage and just last weekend checked the pressures to make sure they were in the ballpark. I should have checked them sooner!!! One of the fronts was up at 3.3 Bar! Unbelievable cock-up by the garage.

Anyway - I've since reset them to 1.6 / 1.9 respectively but the steering (understandably!) now feels a lot heavier. Should they be pumped up a bit more or have my senses been skewed by running the car on the overpressured tyres?

Any opinions / comments would be appreciated.

I can't remember what the manual says - is it 22 f and 24.5psi r?

With my Yokos I run book pressures less 1psi for road use.

If you stick to book pressure (assuming your tyres are standard sizes) you won't go far wrong

i'm on 22F and 24R. leave it like all the time. works fine.

don't know what that is in bars though daft seeing as they've been teaching metric in schools for years.

I find BFGs run best at lower pressures.

I run them at 21/23.5 for road use and 19/21 for track use.
