Auto testing in an Elise...
Does anyone regularly do the autotesting in there elise?
I was l;ooking through some of the pics and there have been one or two.
I believe you can fit front wheels on the back end? I could put on a set of cheepo part worn on my spare set of fronts mounted on the back end to encourage the rear end to be a bit more mobile.... I suppose just having a go is the best thing to do.

Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
A bit of extra air in the back makes it as mobile as you need it to be - if you have adjustable rear dampers you can also make them ultra hard which helps power-on-oversteer 
I competed once in the shed S1 and it was a lack of talent that stopped me doing well - I got one or two really good runs in to be spoiled by wrong-directions or a moment's over exuberance.
BUT, I have to say that it's more fun in small FWD cars.

AndyG used his car all the time 
5 Elises travelled to and drove in an Autotest at Dumfries a few years ago but in general most drivers felt that they would damage their Elise in an Autotest hence the inception of the TSE car to allow total destruction of the autotester at no financial penalty.
Dodgy Dave will be using his own Elise at his next Autotest as the TSE Bimmer has been sold and the Silver se7en is now out of his reach for some unknown reason
TSE6 still survives and is available, especially to anyone that has never tried an Autotest and fears for their pride and joy. Not DDtB of course
One Autotest will not result in much tyre wear with one driver, 4 or 5 inexperienced drivers is of course another matter entirely.
So shall I put you down for the next Autotest John?

Agree that it's possible, and I doubt you will damage it either - the speeds are very low, and the only damage that ever happens as far as I can tell is mechanical, plus maybe the odd cone contact.
TBH, it's good fun whichever car you do it in, and I only wish there were 9 days a week so I could work 5, be a reasonable father and husband (read chauffeur and cook) on the first weekend and then hoon the car about on the second weekend
However, mustn't grumble as Katie didn't bat an eye lid when I told her about FF6 ...

Top tips - 50psi in the rears and if you've got adjustable dampers put them to full HARD on the front and full SOFT on the rear.
Yes you read that right - you're going at such a slow pace that you want the front to be flat and pin-sharp, whilst almost having no grip (thanks to massive weight transfer and rock hard tyres) at the rear.
Just FFS remember to re-set it all before you drive home!

Did a few in the 111r, and although a bit trickier to get the Elise round than that TSE Beemer, the Hamborghini, or a 7, its still great fun
