Hi guys,
This may have been discussed before.....
Jacked the car up tonight to fix my horn

took off drivers side wheel and arch lining because as per the service manual thats where the horn is placed. I can here a clicking at the relay side (left) so am assuming its just disconnected at the horn end.
I am looking at the wrong side of the car or am i just blind? Need to get the horn fixed cos MOT due this month.
Any guidence would be spot on.
Cheers
Jamie

Before you go digging, it'll be worth finding the relay, and using a bit of wire to hotwire the horn circuit just to make sure that it's really the horn and not the relay or fuse.
Fuse 10 (7.5A - brown) is the horn fuse.
Relay A (nearest the front of the car in the relay box next to the fuse box) is the horn relay.
If you can hear the relay clicking, it won't be the fuse (the fuse drives the relay and the horn).
If you pop out the relay, and look at the bottom or side you should be able to identify the terminal that is labelled "87" (not "87a") and also the one labelled "30". If you get a bit of wire and short the relay socket between the connectors that 30 and 87 would plug into, you should make the horn beep. If it doesn't, and assuming the connectors are free of rust, etc., then you are probably right that the horn or cabling is gubbed.
I think to get at the horn you need to remove the front undertray I think.
Cheers,
Robin

Thanks Robin,
Will give that a try at the weekend.
I've got visions of folk (probably woman) reversing towards / into me and not being able to beep the horn.
Thanks

yeah, well they won't hear it anyway until it's too late - usually they don't hear the noise of their 4x4 driving over your clam or even notice the fact that they seem to be needing more throttle than usual to reverse - *this has happened to me (man driving, BTW)*.
But you need it for the MOT anyway - BTW, if you cannot be bothered to find it I am sure you can get a nice set of air horns from Halfrauds that will do nicely
Cheers,
Robin
