Boot Lid

Post by Titanium S1 111S (gla) » Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:01 am

Went to open my boot this evening and the opening leaver was jammed solid. No movement at all.

Was late so couldn’t persuade the girlfriend to come out of the warm to lean on the lid but not sure that will help with the leaver being absolutely solid.

Thoughts??

A massive spray of WD40 may do the trick

Pull down the wheel arch liner on the RHS rear and fish about for the cable and yank it from there. The handle is the bit that sticks a bit on mine as it's rusty.

when you get the boot open, undo the little cable clamp in the boot and pull out the whole cable from it's inner. I ran a load of WD40 down the cable outer to shift the water then gave the cable a good going over with a cloth & wire brush as required then lubed up the cable with white grease and pushed it back in. Has worked ok for the last 6 months.
