I have a bad rattle from the drivers window when the window is down or the roof is off. Anyone had this before and know how it can be fixed?

Cheers

It might be the screw on the window guide on the leading edge of the window - wind the windo right down and see if there's any movement on the runner - behind the vertical rubber seal!

If there is find the loose screw and put a bit of thread-loc and screw it back in! Don't take the screw out - it's a total nightmare to get it back in! - Ask Mac!

No - got a new Lotus sports exhaust! Much cheapness!

Not fitted yet - rusty bolts - now I need a new damper! Never rains but it pours!

Robin had a similar rattle and thinks the adjuster near the trailing edge of the door could be the answer...however the head is seized so it just spread when pressured with a screwdriver :-(

My driver door was pretty rattly. More noticeable with the roof off. Don't think it was the window at fault, but it sometimes sounded like it.

I've covered the striker pins for the door mechanism with insulation tape and the rattling seems to have gone. Guess it was a poorly adjusted striker pin.

Good point mate i do think the pins are a bit on the rattly side but am sure its the window. When the door is open i can move it from side to side more than i can move the pax side.

I bought new striker pins off Legin on seloc for around £25. They're a perfect fit and stopped my doors rattling around :thumbsup
