are the halfords bulbs all standard wattage?
i had some higher wattage ones in my impreza and was quite impressed but just spoke to the shop i got them from and they said not to put the higher wattage ones in the elise.
will a higher wattage bulb cause problems with the elise or is it just an old wives tale?

The standard bulbs are circa 55W, Macks ones are around the 80w mark (iirc) and the rally ones are 100W ish....
Shug has run them in his car for ages and andy has just put them in his with no problems. Cheers

i should really go out and have a poke about the car but anytime i go out i just wanna jump in and drive it

Mine are 55watt, but Halfords claim they are up to 50% brighter due to the "xenon gas technology" they have installed in them...
Does Sanjoy have 'rally bulbs' that have had problems?

cheers guys, think i'll have the full bhoona rally ones.
everybody says not to change the impreza ones to a higher wattage cos the loom is weak but i ran higher wattage ones with no hassle.
how long should i put aside to change them over. i understand its a wheel off job and into the wheelarch

S1 or S2 ?
S2 should only take a few minutes, and no need to remove wheels.
S1, I dunno

Have you got a service manual?
Three (it says wing nuts but they're not) knurled nuts up in the wheel arch get removed, you may need a screwdriver or pliers, and the whole plastic cover comes of giving access to the bulbs from above.
