Scottish Elises

The passenger electric window in the elise has decided to stop.. about an inch from being fully up. I took off the door card stuff (about the extent of my technical ability) to see if anything was obviously sticking but cant really see anything. It does all the right the right things, goes up and down, and makes all the right noises but then just stops short. Anything I should be specifically looking at, wiggling or poking, or do I take it back to MMC ?

If its under warranty I would take it back. I have had the window glass out on both sides of my car when I had them tinted, and although it is a really simple mechanism / way of working, access is fiddly and theres a few sharp edges. It can only be one of a couple of things stopping it though.

This happened to my driver's window once. It stopped about half way up. I just pulled it up while pressing the button upwards and it eventually came up. It sometimes sticks and judders a bit and is quite slow to come up, but it hasn't completely stopped again. I figured it happened to my driver's window as it's used more than the passenger window, but I guess your situation proves it's unrelated.

Have you tried just yanking it up a bit while pressing the button? Might at least get it sorted for the moment, but you should definitely take it to MMC if it's still under warranty.

Ok, will try more wiggling and pulling it and see what happens. Looks like a trip to Edinburgh is on the cars.

Saw him driving a Boxster!! this morning.

There was a porker in the MMC showroom the other week... maybe that? He was up at Knockhill last month in an Aston and his coupon is on an MMC Aston flyer I got through the mail last week.

Booked to go there next monday.
