side pod grill painting ?

hello.

i seem to have lost a little black paint on a side pod grill ... can see some silver aluminium shinning through.

What paint should i use to touch this up ?

Can i just grab something out of halfords ?

I thought they were plastic?

I'd say, get used to the car getting chipped mate, it won't be the last time that happens! Some people say using the quick-shine shoe polishers work, as will any sort of paint - Hammerite etc for best results

it does take a bit of getting used to

Half the time, its stones hitting the ali undertray rather than the bodywork

I hammerited mine a few times, and also the grills at the front as they rust really badly and removal is a clam off job.

Hammerite won't last long as its for steel not ali

Humbrol enamel (Model paint, the little tins) might be a better bet though....

As Greg says get used to it, mind you the last lump that hit my car was a Vectra....

I dunno. It's harder than hammerite and should stick ok... Also if it doesn't work its only cheap!

Also black touch up paint might be better still.

Vectra is old news

might even be fixed next week... It's only been 2 months..

The mesh, as far as I know, is steel - else it wouldnt be rusty in the first place? Hammerite is "direct to rust" and worked fine and is easily available.

Havent' seen an S2 grill up close to be fair. I would have imagined a light weight sportscar would use Ali for an ancillary grill.
