Engine management light

Driving home yesterday on M8 had the engine management light come on 
Couldn't detect any change to the way she's running and there was nothing wrong last month after mot and C service at JPS.
Read the thread from March about getting the codes out of the ECU and I wondered if anyone had a suggestion for a friendly garage in West Lothian area that would do this without ripping me off??
