Roof leak..

Not really technical as such, but...

I have a severe roof leak from the windsreen header rail both sides about an inch or so to the outside of the roof rails. On checking the softtop it appears to reach but sit next to rather than on the header rail hence water ingress. Have tried adjusting the position of the roof but there is no way it will do anything other than cover ( rather than seal) the gap.

Don't know if this is post accident repair as any time I used the car in heavy rain prior to accident it was with hardtop on.
Any suggestions as steering wheel, foot well, seats etc get soaked everytime it rains.
Keith

S1 or S2 mate? As an interim fix, use Ducktape, I always carry a roll with me just incase.

Any pics?

Has the roof been re-proofed recently?

MMC - they send it to Hethel. Usually much cheapness (for once)

MacK - doubt proofing would help - seems to be size/fit issue -appears not to be long enough to cover the top of the windscreen rail - only just touches, hence when wet it allows water into the gap at the top and water literally pi$$es into car directly onto steering wheel.

Guess a trip to MMC is on the cards - I am concerned that perhaps things are out of line as wasn't aware of such a serious leak pre- accident ( altho as I said that was mainly with hard top on) & have never had any top of screen leaks in previous (3) Elises.

aren't S2 roofs adjustable? IIRC I read something on that on SEL*C
