Scottish Elises

Since I bought my car it's had blocked washer jets.
I have since tried cleaning the eye of the washer jets by blasting air through them and using a needle to dig out the dirt but both have not worked.

Ordered a Citroen BX washer jet as found on TVR's.

The new washer jet has three clips and just clips onto your wiper arm. Next you need to detach your washer bottle pipe from the old washer jets. It's probably easiest to cut it with plyers as close to the old 'T' piece as possible.

Next, if you look where your existing washer jets are, you'll see just behind them a small piece of black plastic stopping leaves etc from falling down behind the clam. Drill a small hole through there for the washer pipe to come through. It doesn't have to be in a specific place, just anywhere on that small piece.

Thread the washer bottle pipe through and attach to the new washer jet. I then used a black cable tie to secure the washer pipe to the wiper arm.

I've just done it and it works a treat but the piping is not long enough.

Doubt I have the competence or the confidence to attempt that fix G.. I shy away from DIY after taking a pedal off my bike with a chisel back in the day!

Didn't use the drill.
Managed to feed the tubing over the top of the black guard thingy.

I'm sure that the 405 had the same system. Also the end of the tube has a small plug which i would advise taking out to flush the pipe through if it blocks.

I did the conversion using the 405 bar photos below. The 405 bar to me looks much neater and comes with a neat clip which I attached to the nut cover, however this arrangement kinked the hose so I changed the setup and passed the hose through the cover which works well. I also used the 405 little joint piece to pass the pipe through the screen drip / gutter tray this also reduces the pipe size from standard elise to black rubber 405 (which needed a we extention).
Some minor fiddling req as I would like to use the wee cover thingy at the nut cover.
I have a couple of spare bars if anyone needs (scrappy now has none).

Not wishing to be outdone by Peugoet or TVR, I have made a windscreen washer that should do the trick. It definatly is more of a wash than a squirt but it gives a very good flow over the whole length of the blade. It is entirly brass so whon't rust and as the 8 jets are quite big (My drill selection is sh*t!) it shouldn't block up as easily. I have tested the flow on the car and it's good, just need to cable tie it on in the daylight!

What do you all think?

Looks good Rich, what size of brass pipe is it and what size are the holes?

I might try and make a copper one!

Brass pipe is about 1/8" and 3/16" the holes are about 1mm, K&S from a model shop I bought for a heat engine I was going to build, built one and lost interest....

'Borrowed' some bits from work today I'm going to try a trial fit in a bit and I'll take some photos of the results. If it works ok I'll rub it down and paint it black. Or I could laquer it for that BlingBling look. What do you all reckon? Ninja?
