Sticking down the mats/Carpets

Post by BiggestNizzy » Thu Jun 28, 2007 7:52 pm

I have a set of mats for my car but they keep coming off I got extra wide super strong velcro from B&Q and stuck them down with that. but it became unstuck from the floor, the velcro was solid. I cleaned the floor with meths before I stuck the velcro down, so that it would stick better.

Anyone got a better method ?

Did think about, but once it's down it's a pain in the proverbial to get off. any tape I put down will quickly get clogged up with stones and metal cuttings (job thing) and thats what causes the problems.

Had the same problem for a long time, untill we got our hands on these:

Mind you, they have to be glued to the aluminium floor using a proper kind of glue.
I've used Loctite 3455 Poxymatic Aluminium glue which worked well.

Don't forget to carefully degrease the floor and the plug before applying the glue!
