Where is the thermostat located and how is it removed any ideas ?

car is a 2000 standard S1 Elise

Its under the plenum,and very hard to get to ,perhaps removing the undertray as well would help.Its inside a blask plastic housing.
Shug has worked on his ,so may be able to tell you how hard it is to get to.

Wat is wrong with it?

It's for a mate, who is currently trying to sort out overheating problems on a car similar to mine, he asked if I could point him in the right direction by asking the question on here.

I've not actually done mine yet! However, I believe it's a cnut to get at, without taking off the plenum or clam. It's doable through the RH wheelarch, I believe, though.

I've got a slightly easier time of it with the T/B's as I can just take off the airbox for decent access....

May be worth PMing JJ, as I believe he has a url of a document which may help....
