I currently have most of the interior out of the car (there isnt much I know) as I am poofing it up but adding some dynamat.
Looking at the so called "centre console" and its a bit shabby. Thought about spraying it black but what about covering with the grey Alcantara (or whatever it is) like whats on the dash?
Anyone done this, or know where to get it?
(should be ready in time for the good weather...circa summer 2008

You do realise you will be flamed for this
Lotus trim shop through the dealers would cover it - not sure about price but some of the retrimming stuff is actually quite reasonable. Probably not too difficult to d.i.y if you could get hold of the right material and are handy with a glue gun.
....and have to agree with you console looks much better trimmed than standard

Ours was trimmed in leather, done by the Lotus trim shop to match the seat. Looks so much better than the plastic ones! I imagine any decent upholsterer would be able to do it for you although you'll have problems matching the colour of the dash so you are prbably better picking an entirely differenet colour.
Lotus charged, form memory, about 150UKP (and they did more, gear lever gaiter, sill covers etc...)

Thanks guys. I got my seats trimmed in leather so I'll go backand ask Graeme @ MMC about doing this too. And I'll ask if Lotus sell the Alcantara seperately as they should be able to match it.

while your at it, I got some black leather pockets from halfords that look and work a treat. they are about 5 pounds each and stick to the inside of the sill, you can also get smaller ones which stick to the central console, great for storing mobile phone's etc

You can spray it but it won't be a particularly durable finish. Unless you are a dab hand with the sewing machine I'd get a coach trimmer to cover it a material of your choice - it shouldn't cost very much.
Personally I'd recommend Trimeline Scotland on South Street in Glasgow. Everything they have ever done for me has been top hole.
