Scottish Elises

Just wondering where people in Aberdeen get any work done on their car.

I've had an an 02 Elise S2 since summer.

The Engine Management light came on when I was just pottering about in town at the weekend - the manual advises not to drive the car. I have a Janspeed Sports exhaust fitted and having spoken to the dealer that I bought it from it would appear that it's a fairly common problem with an uprated exhaust being mis-reported by one of the sensors.

I just want to get someone to run the diagnostics on the car to make sure that this is the problem, but I can't find anyone with the software (although Taylors Auto may be able to do it, I'll be £60 even if they can't!).

It will be useful to know where you go anyway because I don't really want to have to take it to Edinburgh for servicing either.

You'll need someone with the Lotus Scan tool - normally a lotus dealership - sorry.

Agreed, you'll probably have to go to Edinburgh for that. ABZ people do go elsewhere for servicing, not sure exactly where though. The name Ricky springs to mind but I know nothing about him.

Ricky Gauld is the guy that tut uses but I would very much doubt that he has access to the Lotus Scan Tool.

Just take a nice run down to MMC next Saturday - It's a 10min job to plug it in and see what the stored code is.

If your a member of the AA or RAC they should also be able to do this for you.

Their laptops have access to majority of manufacturers ECU fault codes

Would an OBDII reader be any use? They are available quite cheaply around £40.
