Odd Engine Temps

Post by Tom » Mon Jul 09, 2007 10:01 pm

Thought I'd look into this before FF.

Months ago, the temp on the dash gauge went up to 107. Gave robin a call to see if I had Mt St Helens on my hands, but then fan kicked in and Robin figured it was a wonky dash temp sender. Pretty much since then, the behaviour of the fan has changed.

Used to be:
Running temp - 87deg
Track temp - pretty much the same 87deg
Standing still - temp rises as expected
Fan on - 100deg
Fan off - 90deg

What happens now:
Running temp - 87deg
Track temp - pretty much the same 87deg
Standing still - temp rises as expected
Fan on - 107deg ***
Fan off - 95deg ish I think ***

kind of ignored it as figured a wonky sender, but why is standard running temp the same??

anyone got a good dash temp sender i can borrow?
