S1 Shock Absorbers

Post by c5tto » Mon Jan 09, 2006 2:19 am

Hi
I have a S1 elise 111S, which i have had for a year now without problem, but both rear shocks have now gone, which are the best replacements, and do they need set up or anything, or could my local garage fit them? Im up in aberdeen so nearest is edinburgh and i dont fancy driving it to edinburgh with the rear shocks like they are.

Best bet for general use is Steve Butts S2 conversion kit. For a few hundred smackers, you get really good S2 spec bilsteins with the appropriate bracketry. Steve is also a top lad when it comes to answering questions. I'm a bit busy to look for the details, but PM Gordon, who had these done on his car and puts them to very good use!

You can really fit yourself - no problems at all - but you will need to take the car somewhere to get the geometry re-set (as the ride height will be lower) One of the Abz mob should be around to advise on your best bet for this up there.

You can choose what heights you want to run too, by the way and Steve is only too happy to discuss the pros & cons of each choice.
