Flexi damage..?

Post by Rich H » Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:05 pm

Hi all,
When I changed my Cat for a CRP I found what I thought was a piece of flexi in it, a bit of the woven stuff, but having just replaced it I can see how the woven stuff could get in?!?!? Any ideas?

2 of the nuts came off relatively easily, but the other 2 studs unscrewed fromt he manifold! I just replaced them with new bolts. About 2 hours work, no real problems.

My 2.5k tizz has now gone though! :)

Doubt its anything to worry about. If it was a bit of piston or valve you'd know about it

could have gotten in there when it was fitted originally

as said above i doubt it's much to worry about cos if it were you're car would be fcuked!

I'm sure that there is flexi fabric on the inside of the flexy section too.

Simon: No I can see the cat it's a sort of sulpher yellow grid, the bits I found were definatly rusty woven steel.

Stephen: I'll chop the flexi open (Its fooked anyway!) and have a look tomorrow if I get the chance/can be bothered.

Cheers

Rich,
Is it leaking?
the outer webbing is just abasion protection. So it's not feked unless the gasses are getting out.
I'll hear about it after the run today.

No I don't think it was leaking, but the tizz was driving my up the wall! Picked up another rattle during todays run, but hopefully it's just a bit of gravel. I'll have another shufty when I take the trays off (Again!) to see if I can find the source of that bang I heared.... :(

Car seems fine though, but I want to be sure....

At least you know what came off! Decided in true style to ignore it until something falls off. It'll be fine I'm sure! *Rushes to touch some wood*

(Had a good look with the trays on, nothing obvious)
