Servicing options left...

Post by K-Serious » Wed Jan 18, 2006 10:30 pm

Just got told by Roy ritchie that hes not doing elises anymore. He lost one of his good guys and hes too bogged down with routine work. Gutted. Was gonna try Brunty...but he wont service elises now at all then? ...damn. Where next guys?

Stay in Dundee, Glasgow at weekends.

Really bad experience with Murray Glasgow...lots to come regarding that...you wont believe it trust me.

They are extortionists to boot.

Btw, bruntys site says hes in england, northumberland, or is that in scotland...erm...

thanks for any help btw...

Try Falkland in Glenrothes, they're considering becoming a Lotus service garage so should be pretty good.

Falkland were average-to-good when I delt with them, friendly and helpful, seemed to know their stuff. It was good to see all the joints well coppa-slipped following my geo. I'll go back I reckon, due an A service soon.

You could try Bill at Greersport - details on his currently under construction site at http://www.greersport.com. Not sure if he can do elises, but heard nothing but good things from people with Jap big turbos - and my mate's RS200 get's tweaked there too.

I have the same problem - car is out of warranty in March so i can happily wave bye bye to Vauxhall.

Was planning on using Brunty, but thats obv not going to happen any more.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

I use a guy in Uddingston.

He has a small garage & is reasonably priced & has plenty of practice on mine. Worth a call if you are looking for the work to be done. If you want a cup of coffee and a waiting room go elsewhere.

My mate's brother in law works for Falkland and they are definitely thinking about the Lotus servicing.

Cheers for that update.

Maybe we just dont have a enoough people responding to the post but it worries me that there are so few solid options. you have expressed your opinions but could you tell me details that you observed that showed knowedge, honesty, professionalism, and skill about your fave place.

Ive been given such a raw deal from MMC and other motor tradesmen and im sick of their sh*t....

Just want my car to be kept normal to stay in love with it...these fcuk intentionally neglect it

cheers guys :thumbsup

well from the point of view of Jude performance.

Dan only really deals with lotus and has been doing so for years now.

he's only just set up on his own (last year) and is offering very good servicing prices

nice friendly service (he drove me and my gf to the metro centre to spend the day while he was servicing the elise and then came to pick us up again).

In addition to this he noted a few items which would need done on my elise in the near future but which weren't urgent at the moment, leaking gattor's etc and this to me showed that he wasn't in it for a fast buck.

price for my service + both belts changed was £200 which was about 300 LESS than murray lotus were asking. price for my up coming 36k service is £120

was also very keen to show me around the workshop (which was totally spotless) and was happy to talk about modifications and what cars he had in for servicing etc etc.

nice guy and tbh i was very impressed. just a shame it's so far away!

but this won't stop me going back tbh as i'd rather drive for a couple of hours and be happy that someone i trust is servicing my baby, than have some local muppet do the spannering.

I've found murrays service pretty good, the price is the only thing that annoys me. Perhaps we can get a group buy on services :) or some sort of SE discount?
