Highlights of the weekend:-
1) Driving there.
2) Doing a whole track day.
3) Driving home.
4) Complete uninvolvement by the AA.
In between was a good night out on Saturday at the Raj, then whatever the Pub was called providing the local entertainment. Got chatted up by a couple of dragons looking for a threesome that even Scotty would have turned down. Money goes a long way down there, £15 for loads of food and beer in the Indian, and Taxis at £2.40.
As the others have said, the hours on track made for some great driving and lapping, the car behaved great and was the equal or faster than anything there. Lapping with Andy, Jamie, Ed and Scotty was the best that I remember and on a great track. Also some good ones with Andy Dolan in his S/C Honda. Got through almost four tanks of fuel, and a big plus was the on track re-fuelling, so no time wasted. Little time spent in the pits, but lots on the track.
Home at 0130 Monday morning, tired but no dozing off. Partly thanks to Andys parents who fed us bacon rolls on the way down on Saturday, then again on the way back on Sunday with BLT's and black coffee.
Weirdo of the weekend, Andy and I arranged to meet up on the way down at 1115 at Hillend garage, and literally arrived at the roundabout together bang on the minute, and carried staright on down. We then drove home together from Cadwell, but at the A68 turn off I could not see Andy right in front, so I took it then found that I was in my own. Had a great run on empty roads then reached the T junction with the Newcastle road, turned left, and there was Andy in my mirror.
We then had a fast run back to Edinburgh, thankful to have lights to follow as it got darker and wetter. I dont really like driving in those conditions at night, poor lights and too much concentation, so after Andy split, I got hit by the Gatso under the bridge on the bypass in the 50 zone. Was concentrating on where I turned off, torrential rain, double flash, checked the tacho, 3000 rpm in 6th which is 57tuts. Must have been right on the lower limit, which really would be a bummer.
Especially as following Andy I was photoed by every forward facing camera on the A68, both ways. I actually slow down for them, even though I know they can not cop you, but Andy goes through at normal warp factor. However they do not flash until he is passed, but get me. If I then go through at the same speed, I get a single flash as I am alongside. He also enjoys setting them off when a car is coming through in the opposite direction, which he demonstrated as we came out of Jedburgh, the two cars must have thought that they had been hit even at under 30.
So an excellent weekend, which has given me some faith again that the main problems have been sorted out. Of course something else will turn up to bite me in the ass.
Just hope that Ed and Scotty can get theirs sorted out, as it is getting beyond a joke.

Couldn't believe it when i popped up behind you on the A68 - had been waiting for you at the airport while phoning Scotty and thought you must have taken the A1 - was thrashing myself for not stayiong together in the slower A1 traffic!

That guy was a nutter was standing on the grass at the end of the back straight and the braking zone was a bit dodgy as 1st half was dry and the other half was wet so easy to lock-up. Would liked to have had a look at the images but think he said he delets them at the end of the day - pointless if you ask meScotty C wrote:Did anyone go and look at the the photo's taken by
