For any MSA motorsport in the UK you should be aiming for Snell SA2005 minimum, there is a BS number too but they are becoming less common these days as the Snell standard is more global, I forget the BS number but it has a red sticker, but this is date specific IIRC so the Snell spec is better.
For trackdays I don't think anybody cares . . . depends how much you value your head . . .
It's also worth saying that bike helmets are not as safe IN A CAR as a car specific helmet . . . car helmets are designed to protect you from the inside of a car whereas bike helmets a designed to protect you from skiting along the road and hitting solid things like cars, trees, kerbs, etc . . .
