Hilarious on track last night...

Getting new boots on the Shugmobile tonight so my rears are, how you say, 'used' 48s. I was getting wheelspin on full throttle in 3rd going up the main 'straight' which was fun, 'till you see the tyre walls... Entry to the hairpin was more akin to powerboating at times...

That said, there's a stunning amount of grip if you can cut through the water and when it dried out, it got really fast, really quickly. Good banter as always, only slightly dampened by the rain. Kames isn't really a hooning track, so it's much more fun when you can hook up a line and get some grip - it's too narrow to really go mental with the sideways action.

Elaine even screwed up the courage to go out later on (despite her fears about the wet in her new car - she comes from a 4WD Audi with electronic everything, remember!)

I've uploaded some pic's from last night to my Bebo page: http://www.bebo.com/StevenT971

Unfortunately I didn't get many mostly because of the weather, however it was good to see so many cars out on such a driecht night!

S'ok, no worries. I had been accosted by some of the committee members about taking on the club web-site, then I wanted to try and get some photo's during the break in the rain, and on top of that I had my wee girl with me, so there wasn't much opportunity to talk to anyone much. Had a brief conflab with Woody just before I left, but that was about it.

I'm sure we'll catch up some other time - just a pity the track-night wasn't tonight 'cos the weather's great!

Steve.
Best Regards,

Steve.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone I spoke to last night who made me feel very welcome. Especially to Martin and Jon for the paxes. And yes (see above) Craig was very close to covering the front of his fabulous car with lamp chops! Hope to meet some of you again on Sunday at KH. There are probably age rules I don't know about but I'll be bringing my 14-year-old son Cameron. If there's any chance of him getting a pax at some point, I'll buy him a suitable crash helmet tomorrow.

Rob
