What a great track day. After deciding not to go last night, I was a wee bit miffed when I saw how wet it was. Nevertheless I had paid my money and as it looked like it may be wet for the whole session I decided to just get out there. Took my time early on and as the pace was slower in the wet I found that for the first time I could get through the chicane without braking  . The the drying line started to appear and I could feel my pace building and I was even passing a few cars - I only ever managed that before on Alfa days :D . By the time the track dried I was having a ball and finally feel that I have a good idea of the lines - I don't always get them but at least know where I am going wrong.
I enjoyed following DDtB for a wee while and Ken for quite a while.
On the whole driving standards were pretty good with only a couple of tailgaters .
I filled up at the Crook on the way there and did 125 miles on track with the refill light coming on at 12:50. Filled up again at the crook on the way home - 36litres :D
The car was great as always today and I think the recent geo by Falkland Performance Centre has really made a difference.

Comodey moment of the day is a tie between seeing Craig sideways in my mirror exiting Clark's then fishtailing down Railway  or Seeing a yellow flag on approaching the hairpin but couldn't see why until I spotted AndyG in no-mans land keeping the grass down :D

Thanks again John. Roll on the next one.

What spec is your 7?
Pretty much bog standard 1600 Supersport - so about 135 BHP - soft road oriented suspension and a driver who could do with losing some weight

Great day! Massive thanks to John for the organisation yet again :thumbsup Really good track etiquette, excluding the light blue TVR who was slow in the corners and fast in the straights and wouldn't move over to let faster cornering cars by  Great driving standards overall though!

That was my first wet KH and it was very educational. Really enjoyed it and I was surprised just how much grip there was if I stayed off the outside kerbs. As the track dried, I was able to push it more and more and feel I'm really getting "in the zone" with the Exige now. Absolutely loving it! 8) Lapping much faster than I used to and really happy with my driving today . . . except for one slight spinny moment!   Just completely lost concentration for some reason going over duffus and not sure if I lifted off or something but did a lovely 360. Big :thumbsup to the Subaru's that dodged me! Fantastic anticipation! Definitely got a fright, but all fine in the end . . . although the car got all dirty from the grass I caught at the edge of the track! Had to go wash it off straight after the session finished! Any pics of my spin??

Didn't let that dampen my spirits and got out for a really good blast towards the end. Did somewhere just over 100 miles on track and used a full tank. Great fun!

Thanks to Mas for the pax laps and hints regarding heel & toe and turning in. Really helped! Thanks! :thumbsup

Can't wait til September now for the AMP3 day!

Cheers,
D

Excellent morning , the wet and dry weather turned out to be great fun . I was much quicker after getting some really good instruction .

Thanks to Meatball and Jinty for the petrol at the end which saved the last half hour .

Will admit to maybe getting a bit too close to people a couple of times when I was passing , apologies.

Just a quick one to say that despite (because of?) the changeable weather, that was by far the most enjoyable track day I've done in a long while. I also wanted to thank those that gave me a couple of pax laps and especially those that took my other half Lynne out - she seemed to be cursed today as everybody that took her out ended up enjoying some 'off roading' so she offers her apologies
It was a revelation how much better and more confidence inspiring the car was after a set of new tyres, a new rack and a geo (yeah, pretty obvious really I guess...) - I could really feel the difference in grip in both the wet and dry. Suffice to say that any doubts I was having about keeping the Lotus have evaporated after one day out... money well spent then!
Cheers
Matt

Apologies to Mass for not seeing you again later on, but a friend had a wee problem with his scoob and i soon left just after that. Car looks lush though. 8)

Got loads of pics, but won't get them on till tomorrow probably.

Shame about the weather...still turned out a great day though.

Echo that above, great day with lots of great people. Had my first spin, really went so quick I didnt know what happened, tut and jamie wont let me forget that in a hurry :D Had some great laps with tut, tha cars were really going great.
Big thanks to Colin for the use of his 340R after my brakes decided to cook, think you know how much I loved it :D . Never driven anything quite so precise, turn in was so exact you could place it anywhere and the noise of the vhpd was intoxicating. Give me shout this week when you get a chance and well take a look at the mounts.
Very impressed with the S,as Jamie said she's so smooth you dont realise how quick it is, but would like a little more low end torque. Mass/Frank Ill keep you updated with the new map as regards driveabilty, I should have it installed by the end of next week with the new manifold. Never realised we had so many S owners on the forum or Id have posted about the upgrades and have at least tried to give a write up on the performance change.
Cheers Craig.
