Alford, Sunday 13th July

Post by JohnStewart » Tue Jul 01, 2008 1:47 pm

Just to let you know that SIDC are holdig their annual day at Alford (Grampian Transport Museum) on Sunday 13th July.

Free entry, though we will be taking donations for our Santa Cruise on the gate as per the last few years :)

Static parking areas for visiting car clubs. Show and Shine competition.

Best of all, we'll have the sprint track in use all day from about 10:30am to 4pm. £10 buys you unlimited runs around the track (by yourself).

It's a great day out, so why not come along and have some fun.

John

I reckon we could get a good SE contingent John, but the queues for the track have got longer each year.

There was long q's last yr, but I 'think' it was mainly because not enough marshalls/people helping out for whatever reason and hence maybe a bit slow moving, plus of course only one car is allowed on at a time, I assume of course for safety reasons.

But hey, its a nice days out and only a tenner to go on :D

I only got one wet lap last year....far too busy.
Wasn't going for a fast lap, just playing with lots of throttle.

With hopefully more marshalls this year, we'll get the queues a bit more organised and efficient. We were also hampered last year by having to have the cars at the opposite end of the arena.

If anyone wants to volunteer as a marshall it would be very much appreciated!

I will be willing to help out (as long as I get a few laps in), I could also help on the Saturday if you need a hand.

Let me know

Hope you've enjoyed the day.

Like the fact you don't need to wear helmet. Only if it was closer....

How long is the track?

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
