Wasn't going for a fast lap, just playing with lots of throttle.

I know it must be quite short. Just wanted to know the exact length.

Think athletics running track but with slightly longer straights and tighter bends...

Details
Lap length: 0.41km (0.25 miles)
Width: 6m (6.6 yards )
Straights: 183m (200 yards)
Corner radius: 15m (16.4 yards)

Bugger! Guess i got there too late. Arrived about 2 ish i think. Only saw 1 other Lotus - an S1 Exige, parked safely in car park as was mine!!! What time were you guys out on track at? What sort of times did you achieve? There was a guy in 500bhp+ Subaru did a 62 (i think) which was record for the day (when i left).

I was only there for about an hour, from 11.30 - 12.30 ish and left as it was so quiet, and the car park layout is a total mess now. Really dissapointing and gawd knows how they will sort out the sprint guys when they all arrive, there is no room!

G did one run that was a 69ish I think, but looked to be taking it really easy

I was stunned by the "antique" stuff laying around the outside of the track, not barriered off, and kept thinking of the worst case scenario of an off. Needless to say I bottled it from going on track.

Only did one lap which was a 69.
Didn't push it as there was a bit of vintage iron to hit and the track was VERY dusty.
I wont go back.

Tut went too but he went home crying (so I was told) :)

Thanks to everyone that came, appreciated however short the time :D

It was a (much) lower turnout than last year, but we think this was due to other events on at the same time, including T in the Park :(

yes, the track was VERY dusty, I started to drift in the middle of the figure 8 myself. We did sweep it Saturday and Sunday morning and I took my car round to try and clear some before the event so, I think, we got a lot of it off but there was just as much maybe left on :?

Building Site & Old Iron - yeah, that was bad news, sorry guys pretty much outwith our control! We only knew about it on the saturday afternoon we we arrived to set up  Logistically a nightmare and to be honest think a rethink might be in order for future years if this is a sign of things to come. God knows why the ironwork was there when it could just as easily be placed out of harms way

I was going up for the spint next weekend, doon't think I will bother now though!

All in all though it was a good day and most people seemed to enjoy themselves :D

Did a 68 on first run, 2nd run I think I was going a bit quicker (honest) until I had the altercation with the cone on 2nd crossover then 1/2 spun (71). Did another couple of runs, but it was slippy and I think I was lucky not to sustain "cone damage" rather than just "cone smear" so took it easy, 70 and 69 then went home. There were some sharp/hard things to hit, so would not have been good to lose it around outside. Tis a bit micky mouse, but OK as near home, and good reminder that KH is a proper track after all.

As Arthur has already mentioned, we got a big shock at the state of the place when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. We were using shovels (!!) to get the mud off the track to start with.

The ironmongery should be moved in time for the sprint this coming weekend - they simply couldn't get it done before due to the heavy rain all week making the ground waterlogged.

The new building in the parking area was a bight of a nightmare also, as it meant we had to split the parking arrangements for those going on track and those not going on. Hopefully next year there will be a nice access road linking the two areas around the new building making things a bit better.

On the plus side, the weather was great all day, no-one damaged any of their cars, other than George's cone rash on the front of his Exige and we have raised almost £600 for charity so far - thanks to everyone who gave generously :D

For the sprint next weekend, they generally put out large hay bales around both ends of the track:

This prevent anyone hitting anything solid, but it does mean there is zero run-off.

The ones protecting the timing gear are the worst - the best line is to just skiff them.
You know you've been trying if there's straw in the cockpit...
