As per the for sale thread Tom and I can no longer make this.
Dodgy has one of the beds on our room at the ring and ive offer the other one to Abz-elise. Dominique, your next on the list if he doesnt want it.
D has got my ferry crossing so only the slot on frolic itself is left.
Im confident ill find a home for that also.
Gutted to say the least but for the best in the long run.
Hope you guys have a blast. Cheers Ed :thumbsup :cheers

Happy Birthday Ed.

Sorry to hear that you and Tom can no longer make it :( As you say, I am sure you will get your spot sold with no problems. Would be cool if another SE'r could take the spot.

So gents, after seeing this thread start several months back I sort of sidelined it knowing I couldnt possibly organise that far in advance. Now however it seems to be cathcing up pretty quickly so thought Id better jump on the wagon.
So please correct where Im wrong but,
Most of you guys plan on travelling down on the saturday (8th)for a ferrie on the sunday and just getting a pikey lodge for the sat night.
Here on you just join the main FF trip until the sat morning? where you race over to the ring for the whole day and get the hotel (fully booked hotel I cant remember the name of)near the circuit on sat (15th)night
Travel home sun.
Cant decide if Ill do the ring or not but would prefer to travel over in convoy so what crossings have you guys got? I just read the whol thread but am more confused than when I started!
If I book the same ferries do I just have to let Paul G know Im not using the LOT service?
What lodge or lodges are we using for the sat night (8th)?

Ideally does someone want to point me to a simple link which will outline all the above? :D
Cheers Craig

Most of you guys plan on travelling down on the saturday (8th)for a ferrie on the sunday and just getting a pikey lodge for the sat night.

The latest master plan is to drive straight down for the ferry on Sunday mornong.

Here on you just join the main FF trip until the sat morning? where you race over to the ring for the whole day and get the hotel (fully booked hotel I cant remember the name of)near the circuit on sat (15th)night
Travel home sun.

Last track day is Circuit du Mornay on Friday then head to the Ring early Saturday morning. Staying at The Burgstube Saturday and Sunday night.

Cant decide if Ill do the ring or not but would prefer to travel over in convoy so what crossings have you guys got?

Dover -> Dunkirk ferry leaving 10am on the Sunday (9th) and coming back at 4pm on the Monday (17th).

If I book the same ferries do I just have to let Paul G know Im not using the LOT service?

Depends what you have paid for mate?

What lodge or lodges are we using for the sat night (8th)?

None at the mo

Ideally does someone want to point me to a simple link which will outline all the above? :D

Whats everyones plans for tyres? Im sure as hell not gonna get an entire week from new 48s, Donkey Punch saw my tyres last 2 days!! So should I try a different road tyre that will last a little longer on track or organise replacments. Last road tyre I used were T1rs, great on the road (if a little soft) but absolutely horrendous on track, is there anything more suitable?
Cheers Craig.

Hi Craig

Good question mate - I'm currently thinking of sending some R888's to the hotel at the Ring and hoping to get there on the new rear boots it will have on it.

We used a mechanic mate of Bob Van M's last year to change them, and we can always then decide whether or not to switch before or at time of leaving the ring? :thumbsup

340R runs S1 wheel sizes IIRC, in which case Advan Neovas would be my road tyre of choice for a warm week in France. A bit hard for the coldest of weather, but fine once you get a bit of heat in them; given that I know you're happy to press on whilst the car is a bit skittish, you should be fine on them.

I'll be on the same PZero Nero's I was on last FF and Donkey Punch - still loads of tread left & the chicken strips are still there on the rears ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

The origional AO39'S come with 7mm instead of the 5mm that 48's have ~heard good and bad reports on
Which I did wonder if that was down to it being old rubber
Ronnie had some in stock a while back don't know how old they were or even if they were nrew enough to have a manufactoring date on them

I need to get a set of Rears although am no where near as sore on tyres as you faster guys ~ still got 3.5mm on the ones I had on DP having done 7500+miles on them

Those that are doing the Mountains instead of the ring Where are you staying?

I'd call it a tidy driving style Frank unlike these oversteer boys. ;)

Mine lasted OK the last FF but it was only 3 tracks and I missed half of Dijon. On DP I'd gubbed a set by Snetterton and had to take it easy and get a new set fitted at Oulton.

Hence I think I'll need a set at some point, might make it back to Blighty but a set at the 'Ring would be prudent. We could ship direct to Burgstube or Bob's mate? We would need them fitted late Sat, sometime on Sunday or early Mon morning. We should plan on leaving Nurburg by 1030 latest to get the Ferry at Dunkerque.

Everyone still planning to drive overnight to the ferry on the way out? I'd need to leave around 2130 Sat to get to Dover by 0830...we then have around 4 hours on the French side to Le Mans.
:tired

Also what about the return? 4 hours from Nurburg to Dunkerque, 2 hr ferry then 11 hours back for me would get me back around 0400 on 18th...
:tired

Maybe I'm getting old but a travelslodge each way wouldn't go amiss and allow more beer potential... :cheers
