Ali happy to go with your plan, whatever you decide mate.

Welcome to stay in Edinburgh either side of it also if that helps? I'm quite happy to go at night, as the roads will be SO much better!

Hamish - i believe the boys doing the mountain bit are doing it before/during Le Mans as they've already done that track, and dont fancy it again.

Trying to find out if i have a pax currently :thumbsup :cheers

Surely you're not bringing the other half Andy!?! I cannot imagine that she's going to enjoy it, not even for a second. OTOH, I'm sure Uncle Ron would love it :-)

Cheers,
Robin

My wife is doing FF but the 'sensible' way. Flying to meet us after Le Mans staying at the Limoges base then flying home when we head to the 'Ring. She's flying into CDG then TGV to Tours, worked out at £80 return with airmiles. :D
Andy, I hope your pax isn't going to affect my request for Mule saddlebag space?

I'm happy to do the overnight drive down to Dover, pre-Frolic adrenalin should keep us going.
The thought of arriving back in Dover at 5pm though (after a reasonable days drive already) with 11 hours to go and the prospect of hitting the M25 at 6pm...

I think it merits a cheap hotel, somewhere before we hit traffic, and a few beers to round off the trip.
It's then a relaxed donder up the road on the Tue (which would have been a write off anyway!).

I'll be using last years R888's which also did Snetterton TA on the road and take last years part worn slicks for track. I'll be in tyre conservation mode so no going round corners just straight through.

p.s. the wife may be coming too so I'll probably be doing a bit of sightseeing/exploring as well. :thumbsup

Accomodation might be the issue Hamish as it's DTM weekend at the 'Ring (we're all booked already).
Will be lots to see...albeit a bit of a techno mulletfest.

Dont be silly mate - you've seen my antic on FF's previous - think that would end in tatters!

Some chat the T Paine esq might tag along. Uncle Ron has gone in to hiding of late - he may make a wee flight, but nothing as of yet

Honestly, you'd have thought the chance to thrash a Mule for free would have them jumping :damnfunny

Pikey lodge booked for each end of the trip. I think one was £9 and the other £29 - booked quite some time ago :thumbsup

As for tyres, I keep trying to recall what Meatball used to have in his signature? Was it something along the lines of "Christian motoring"? Anyway you get the idea so a new set of 048's from Ronnie going on sometime in the next week should hopefully see me through with no issues - I'm not doing the 'Ring.

Does anyone know if Paul will email details of Tunnel times? I have paid for this but not quite sure how he arranges it - I don't like bothering him as I know he is busy and everything always works out anyway :)

Where you staying Stewart?

Have the hotels in France been mentioned yet?

On the way down it is Travelodge at Medway M2 (£29).
On the way back it is the Travelodge at Baldock Hinxworth (£9) - can't remember where that is, but i think it is North of the M25 so that we don't need to naviagte that on a Monday morning. Sharing with AndyA

Mr Golding on LoT wrote:"For info, we will spend the first 2 nights at LM (the Mercure next to the Bugatti track) and then at Limoges (the Ibis North East of town). For Limoges, there are some hotels nearby (Novotel if I remember), and maybe the Ibis might have some extra rooms at some conditions (??), but the Mercure at LM is definitely completely full now and will have no last minute change. We booked it entirely for us in fact, inclusive the usual "last minute spare rooms".
I have already stuck them into my satnav  Can we go yet :D

Canterbury could be an option for us on the way back Rog.
I'm sure SE posse could lower the tone appropriately... :D

What's the consensus folks? (those going to the 'Ring and ferry back on the Monday).

You would maybe have been in work on the Tue but in bad shape I'd wager...

As I said I rekon we'd manage the way there in one go.

Im up for overnight stays Ali, I dont know what it is but the thought of leaving at 9.30 pm on a sat night for Dover in a 340 is not that inspiring. Id also planned being back to work for the tuesday but Im flexible.
As regards tyres, Robins idea is definatly sounding the easiest but realistically how many laps will I get before they go off, my last experience was with the honda s1 on t1rs, fine on the road but two laps of Knockhill and I was like torvil and dean!!
Hairdresser at heart.
